Welcome - I'm glad you're here.
Here's the first hurdle: I'm here to offer support and you're here to see if I can. A bit of a chicken-and-egg situation, isn't it?
So, let's start with the basics. I'm a qualified, registered, accredited (MBACP and NCPS Accred Prof) and insured psychotherapist. I work with clients experiencing a wide range of challenges from common mental health concerns to more complex issues. You'll find a list on this website, which is not exhaustive and nor does is mean I am an "expert" on everything listed. It's simply there to give you a glimpse of what I'm used to working with.
My key area of focus is addiction and recovery. I hesitate to call myself an expert here too (my self-worth and I are still negotiating that one!), but this is the area where I have the most experience both professionally and personally. My work, study, research and lived experience form the foundation of what I do.
What I can tell you is something I know for sure: we are all different with our own unique needs and goals. No two journeys are the same, so my starting point is always you where you're at, and together we will figure out how to navigate to where you want to be.

Therapy and coaching is a joint endeavour, but you are the expert on you. My role is to be there for you every step of your journey.
Think of me as your co-pilot.
Or my favourite metaphor as the forest is my happy place:
Imagine standing in the middle of the forest in a little clearing. It's dark and you're unsure of where to go. Several paths offer different directions from where you're standing. My job is to hold up a lantern and I also have a map, a compass and a set of Bear Grylls style skills! And so I a there to make the task of finding your way and getting there safely easier, but we explore the paths and surroundings in the way you decide.
And why don't I just tell you what to do? Well. Simply because it's not my journey and what works for one person might not work for the next. I might make suggestions and I might challenge you, but I'm not here to tell you how to do it.
Something like that.

I charge £80/session. I work in person or via Zoom, whichever is best for you.
Recovery coaching may look a little different and this is entirely dictated by what you need. In the section dedicated to this I have tried to give more of an outline.
My practice is in Surbiton, which is easily accessible from Kingston, Thames Ditton, Teddington, Hampton, Hampton Wick as well as London and other areas of Surrey. If you prefer to book an online Zoom therapy session please get in touch.

I have known Anna for four years now. Together we have navigated the most difficult time of my life, the untimely death by suicide of my husband and best friend of 27 years - and its painful aftermath. Anna gives me the time and space to talk about anything and everything. She's interested in loads of things, always learning and makes excellent reading recommendations. In short, Anna is worth her weight in gold.

I was recommended Anna as a therapist and after our first consultation I felt totally comfortable talking to her and knew I wanted to progress with her help. She was able to help me learn and understand things about myself I wouldn’t have been able to do on my own and I feel I have really grown as a person since our sessions. I am very grateful I was introduced to Anna and incredibly thankful for all of her help.

I’ve been working with Anna for over three years, and in that time, I’ve grown so much in confidence, outlook, and coping skills. She creates a safe, supportive environment that has helped me navigate some really difficult things. Anna is professional, personable, and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her. Thank you!

Anna is a pleasant welcoming therapist. Her area of expertise is addiction but she can accommodate any problems. She will listen closely to what the client says and try to "walk in their shoes". She has no off-the-shelf preconceptions. but will accompany the client wherever the client wishes to go, and accompanying is the actual meaning of "therapist".

With a wide range of different therapists out there, Anna is one to not miss. She exceeds all expectations. She has made me feel heard, valued and that anything can be possible in life. I came to her as someone who had a long life of traumas in every direction. She has been able to help me identify triggers and find techniques to deal with them as effectively as possible. I came to Anna as someone who felt broken and at cross roads, I am now a much more confident and mentally stable woman than I ever have been. She is kind, intelligent and very approachable. I highly recommend!

A few sessions in with Anna & she's made me feel so safe, heard & validated. Feels like you're telling your life to a friend who cares over a cup of tea or something, because it's never been awkward.

My chats with Anna have been really insightful and helpful. Our conversations are very reflexive and focused on the ‘why’ and this has helped me to understand and resolve certain feelings/behaviours.

It has been great with Anna. It is interesting how she gets it, right away. I feel heard, she makes me think and our conversations have been very good to me. I would definitely recommend Anna! :)
